It’s the most wonderful time of the year! And that means is almost time to go out and get your Christmas tree! And, well, Santa’s Tree Farm & Village in Half Moon Bay is the perfect spot to start your Christmas celebration!

Operating for almost 50 years and growing six different types of lush trees, this tree farm is a staple in the San Mateo County and Silicon Valley region. Families from all over visit this tree farm and are never disappointed. Officially reopening on November 20, the tree farm is open weekdays from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, and weekends from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The tree farm will remain open through December 23, but if you want to cut down your tree on Christmas Eve you still can! Just give them a call and they can fit you in the afternoon.

Additionally, Santa’s Tree Farm has so many fun activities and events planned to get you into the holiday spirit! Not only can you cut down and purchase a lovely and fragrant tree, but there is so much more fun for the entire family! Santa Claus himself will be at the Farm starting on November 26 and all weekends through December 19, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Don’t fret! Santa will be wearing a face mask and he will have a non-glare Plexiglass sneeze guard stationed in front of him -- perfect for capturing memorable photos of the kids!

Joining Santa is Mrs. Claus herself! She will be stationed by the Santa area, and does a 6-foot distance circle storytime! She will also lead stocking decorating in the open-air area, with Plexiglas shields at each table, allowing children to work on a stocking, decorating privately and safely! These fun meet and greets and activities are free with the purchase of a tree. Every area will be sanitized properly and frequently.

As for their outdoor space - it doesn’t get better than this! With a whopping 487-acres of outdoor farm space, you can feel safe knowing that you are properly distanced from all other families. Also located in the outdoor space is their puppet show area. With different shows and stories every hour, this puppet show has been a hit for 11 years now - kids will love it!

Natalie Sare, co-owner of Santa's Tree Farm, knows the importance of the holidays for families and friends. That is why they took extra safety precautions to ensure that it is an enjoyable and spirited experience for everyone! “We have attended various webinars to discuss how we can ensure a fun and safe holiday experience,” she said. “It is important that we respect these guidelines for folks who are at risk.”

Natalie and her team are ready for visitors and locals to explore their wonderful farm! The San Mateo County Agricultural Commissioner's office sent N-95 masks to farms to ensure employees are wearing appropriate coverings as well.

The best way to start your holiday season is at Santa’s Tree Farm! Cut down your favorite Christmas tree, let their staff net the tree and put it in your car, take photos with Santa, and watch the kids craft.
