About

Drawing on Far West Fungi’s 40 years of experience in the mushroom community, we are gathering the best and the brightest who have shaped the industry to host a massive two-day fungus extravaganza. Through wild mushroom exploration, cooking and cultivation demos, functional mushroom talks, and DIY workshops, the festival offers an incredible opportunity to connect to the mycological network.

The festival will take place at Roaring Camp Railroads, set amongst towering old growth Redwood groves and neighboring Henry Cowell State Park, just north of Santa Cruz. The grounds are expansive and include historic buildings, hiking trails, and wooden railroad trestles that carry passengers on some of the world's oldest working steam engine trains.

Presentations from topics including: Medicinal Mushrooms, Cultivation, Building Culture, Truffles, Mushroom Mixology, Mushroom Farming, Mycoremediation, Psychedelics, Research and mush mush more.

DIY Hands-on Workshops: Fabric dyeing • painting with mushroom pigment • fermenting with fungi • log cultivation demonstration • straw pasteurization • tissue cultures • spore prints • tincture making and more.

Cooking Demo with world-renown chefs (taste testing too!): Jonny Black, Chez Noir Carmel • Jessica Yarr White, The Grove Cafe & Bakery • Mat Schuster, Canela SF • Chad Hyatt, Private Chef • Gus Trejo, Jack O'Neill • Marie Brennan, Private Chef.

Also enjoy a Kids' Zone, IDS Zone, Nature Walks, Live Music, Vendors, Food Booths and an Art Gallery.
