Spring Ahead Strolling Supper for The HEAL Project

The HEAL Project presents their Annual Spring Ahead strolling supper fundraiser where some of the finest chefs in San Mateo County will create a multi-course strolling supper, each course showcasing ingredients grown by local farmers and ranchers.

Our confirmed celebrity chefs include event host Kim Levin of Pasta Moon|845, Scott Clark of Dad’s Luncheonette, Liam and Jose Luis Ugalde from Gibraltar Gems, Lewis Rossman of Sam’s Chowder House, and Ursula Schnyder of SWEET55! We are also delighted that our Spring Ahead Event Chair board member Kerry Bitner owner and chef of Que SeRaw SeRaw and Spring Ahead volunteer Joy Portelli chef and owner of Event Savvy will provide delicious appetizers!

Each chef will prepare a course using local ingredients contributed by Coastside farms, ranches, and fisheries, including produce from The HEAL Project’s own San Mateo County School Farm. The evening will feature a six-course strolling supper including a specialty cocktail, local beer and wine, live music, and a silent auction featuring events at our Farm and Coastside experiences.

This year we are honored to have Cecilia Phillips, Coordinating Producer and Host of the “Cecilia Tries This” segment of KQED’s Check, Please! Bay Area as our host for the evening.

The HEAL Project teaches students and their families where their food comes from and why it matters, through hands-on farm and garden-based education in school garden classrooms, and at the San Mateo County School Farm. The funds raised at Spring Ahead 2023 support the continued growth and resilience of these programs that reach thousands of students and their families every year.
