Zoppé Italian Family Circus welcomes guests back into the authentic one-ring circus tent in Downtown Redwood City on various dates between November 1 - December 1 for matinee and evening showtimes.
The spectacular two-hour performance in the intimate 500 seat tent will enthrall the entire family by honoring the best history of the Old-World Italian tradition. Starring Nino the Clown, the circus is driven by a central story (as opposed to individual acts) that feature acrobatic feats, equestrian showmanship, clowning and plenty of audience participation.
Come discover why this circus remains legendary, with ringmaster Patrick McGuire leading the way. Feel the thunderous beat of hooves as Caleb Asch and Léa Innocenti bring traditional circus riding to life. Hold your breath as Brayan Portugal soars through the air with impeccable timing on the trapeze, while Bereket Gizaw and Birtukan Haile astonish with their contortionist displays. Marvel at the agility of the Ethiopian troupe Risley and Antipud performing their act, and be mesmerized by the daring cloud swing of Chiara Zoppé-Meyer. And of course, don’t miss the ever-amusing antics of Nino the Clown, who guarantees laughter and joy for all.
The Zoppè Family Circus emerged over 180 years ago to become one of the legendary circuses in all of Europe. Like many good legends, it begins with a boy and a girl falling in love. Napoleone Zoppé began his career in Budapest, Hungary where he met a ballerina named Ermenglida and founded a circus in Venice, Italy which still bears their name today.
Weekly shows are every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, while there is an occasional show on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Click here for dates and tickets.
