About

Freewheel's beers are brewed with the same ingredients and methods as their partner breweries in England. Most of their beer is cask-conditioned or real ale. Real Ale is beer brewed from traditional ingredients, matured by secondary fermentation in the container from which it is dispensed, and served without the use of extraneous carbon dioxide. In other words, cask-conditioning is a traditional method of preparing beer for serving. The carbonation is naturally produced in a serving cask resulting in a softer mouth-feel and very balanced flavors. They believe Bay Area beer lovers will appreciate this unique and traditional method.

They focus on using fresh and local ingredients to prepare delicious, made-from-scratch, pub fare. New specials daily!

Their aim is to be the neighborhood local, where friends and family can meet over a proper pint and a bite to eat. They have six cask beers on tap, plus a couple on keg taps, and guest beers. In addition to beer, we offer wine, hard cider, and a variety of soft drinks. Their staff will be more than happy to give you the low-down on how they brew their beer and the different styles they pour. Don’t be shy to ask, and if you want to know more, see if one of their brewers is available to show you around the brewery.

They show all the major sporting events, have a weekly Monday Night Pub Quiz, and present free, live music almost every weekend. Arrangements may be made to reserve either part of the taproom or the whole premises for a special event.
