These provisions apply solely to online activities and are not necessarily applicable to practices San Mateo County/Silicon Valley CVB may engage in outside of the San Mateo County/Silicon Valley CVB. On occasion, we ask for personal data on this website. The information is used to fulfill requests you’ve made of us, such as e-mail updates, brochures by mail, or to use special features of the site. Members of the San Mateo County/Silicon Valley CVB may receive the mailing addresses, phone numbers and comments of leisure travelers who choose to provide that information. On occasion, we may combine system-wide data to create aggregate reports with no individual identity data.

Meeting and Tour Planners

Information provided by meeting planners and other travel professionals is reviewed by San Mateo County/Silicon Valley CVB staff to follow up on requests and develop future business. Events booked in San Mateo County/Silicon Valley are printed in the San Mateo County/Silicon Valley  CVB ‘s Convention Calendar unless that event is specifically marked confidential. If a meeting is confidential, it is our policy not to list it on any distributed information. The San Mateo County/Silicon Valley CVB also uses provided information for internal purposes such as e-mail contact.

Newsletters and Online Surveys

This site offers users the option to register to receive e-newsletters with information about news, events and special offers.  Visitors to our site may also choose to complete periodic surveys that may be posted on the site from time to time. Survey responses will be used to improve our site and to strengthen our ongoing marketing efforts. Newsletter registration and participation in our surveys is completely voluntary and the user may choose whether or not to disclose any and all information.

Security of Personal Information

While the analytics are reviewed internally by the San Mateo County/Silicon Valley CVB staff and board of directors, we do not share analytics publicly.

We may process your account data on social media and via our web e-newsletter. The account data may include your name, social media account and/or email address. The source of the account data is San Mateo County/Silicon Valley CVB.
