Princeton-by-the-Sea, California

The San Francisco Peninsula

Princeton-by-the-Sea is located off HWY 1, just north of Half Moon Bay and south of Moss Beach. The town features several wonderful restaurants, lodging options, a brewery, the Harbor Village indoor mall, sparkling beaches, kayaking and other outdoor activities.

Pillar Point Harbor, San Mateo County's largest harbor, is located here and it is the hub for commercial fishing, deep sea fishing trips, whale watching tours, bird watching expeditions, and more. Freshly-caught seafood may be purchased from the harbor, as well.

Furthermore, the annual surfing competition Mavericks actually takes place in Princeton, although it is usually attributed to neighboring Half Moon Bay.
