City of Burlingame
The City of Burlingame requires anyone having an event with entertainment that they possess a Special Event & Film Permit.
Town of Colma
The Town of Colma supports safe and well-planned special events. The Town requires a Special Event Permit for most activities including filming, outdoor events, and use of public streets or sidewalks. An application for a special event should be filed at least fifteen (15) days before the event in order to allow for review of the application by Town Departments and outside agencies.
City of Daly City
Filming in Daly City is arranged through the Office of the City Manager, which makes referrals to City Departments (Police Department, Parks and Recreation Department, Department of Public Works, Fire Department, etc.) in order to arrange orderly filming in compliance with the law. City of East Palo Alto
Download the City of East Palo Alto's Facility Use/Special Event Permit Application and submit it to the Community Services Division by calling 650-853-3100.
City of Hillsborough
Commercial filming is permitted in Hillsborough on a limited basis and subject to certain conditions, pursuant to Hillsborough Municipal Code (HMC) Section 17.16.012. There should be little or no indication, off of the subject site, that such activity is occurring. City of Menlo Park
To apply for a City of Menlo Park special event permit, one must provide a Certificate of Liability Insurance along with their Special Event Application Form and payment. Please call 650-330-2223 for any questions about the special event submission process.
City of Palo Alto
All filming proposals for the City of Palo Alto are arranged through the Special Operations Sergeant (650-329-2459) who notifies other City Departments (Public Works, Fire, Planning, Human Resources, Transportation, and Recreation) in order to arrange for the safe and orderly compliance of laws and City policies. Town of Portola Valley
Download the Town of Portola Valley's Special Events Permit and submitted to the Town Chief Administrative Officer/Clerk. Applications shall be made thirty (30) days prior to the proposed event.
City of Redwood City
The City of Redwood City allows filming/videotaping involving the use of City-owned property or City controlled right-of-way, or encroachment of any kind on any City street or sidewalk as long as the subject follows the Film Permitting instructions.

City of San Bruno
Contact the San Bruno Community and Economic Development Department main line at 650-616-7074 and ask for information on their film permitting process.
City of San Carlos
The City of San Carlos requires that any special events and organized community activities held on public property, including parks and facilities, sidewalks, and/or street areas that change the typical use of that property require a Special Event Permit. City of South San Francisco
All applicants are required to complete the Film Permit Application Form, including a detailed daily shooting schedule with date(s), location(s), street name(s), and beginning/ending hours of each shoot day.
