Seasonal Events on The San Francisco Peninsula
From Mother’s Day to Fourth of July, to Halloween and Christmas, The San Francisco Peninsula offers the best local events in the San Francisco Bay Area. Check out the seasonal calendar below for the latest holiday events!
The late winter and early springtime bring exciting seasonal events like Valentine’s Day and Easter. The San Francisco Peninsula will be in full bloom come March and April creating a spectacular display of wildflowers. Visiting our local gardens during this season is sure to bring a smile to your entire family’s face. Summer on The San Francisco Peninsula brings Fourth of July parades, the San Mateo County Fair, and warm enjoyable weather for hikes and outdoor activities.
For the fall harvest season, The San Francisco Peninsula has the best weather in the San Francisco Bay Area. This time of year is perfect for activities such as visiting a pumpkin patch, hay mazes, collecting chestnuts, wine tasting, hunting for fall leaves, and indulging in festive fall menus. Our San Mateo County farms are in full harvest for the season during these months and you can pick your own produce or visit farm animals at a goat dairy farm in Pescadero. Additionally, many of the museums on the Peninsula are family-friendly venues that offer great Halloween events too!
In November and December, the holidays come alive with tree lightings, festive downtown holiday street fairs, shopping specials, and Christmas events. The Hillsdale Shopping Center has a huge tree lighting event annually and many of our cities, such as Redwood City, host their own festive downtown events. If you are looking for a festive activity, then you must visit the Filoli Historic House & Garden during the holiday season or head to the Elizabeth F. Gamble Garden located in Palo Alto, which offers amazing holiday workshops like wreath-making.
